NEW BREAKFAST SESSION!!!
Friday 30th September, 2011
APHA are happy to announce that IBM are hosting a one hour breakfast session on Tuesday 18 October from 7:30am - 8:30am.
Speaker: Megan Kennedy, IBM, Healthcare Industry Lead, Software Solutions
Title: IBM Watson: Innovation Transforming Healthcare
Watson Medical records, clinical notes, texts, journals and research documents are all written in natural language — a language that computers traditionally struggle to understand. A system that applies analytics to discover unique and actionable insights from this data could become an invaluable tool in aiding healthcare practitioners to deliver better care.
Megan Kennedy from IBM will demonstrate the technology behind Watson, the IBM® computing system that competed against human contestants on Jeopardy!, could be applied to the healthcare industry today to help improve clinical and business performance. Part of a far broader push in the health industry to incorporate computerised guidance into care, as doctors and hospitals adopt electronic medical records and other digital tools that can record, track and check their work.
Breakfast sessions are INCLUSIVE for people who have selected a FULL or DAY Registration, however numbers are limited to 64.
Places are based on a first come first serve basis, to have your name placed on this list, email by Monday 10 October 2011.
